Google

Dive centres connect their own Google accounts to Origin Dive so they can see their search results, website visitors, reviews and ads in one place, reply to reviews, post updates to their Business Profile, use their Gmail inbox in Origin Dive, add Google Meet links to bookings and pick photos from Google Photos.

01

Search Console, Analytics and Business Profile

Shows how the centre's website does in Google Search and how many people visit it, and brings the centre's Google reviews into Origin Dive so staff can read and reply to them in one place. The centre can also post a "What's new" update to its Business Profile from Marketing Studio.

Permissions · Website Studio → Connections, shown in Analytics Studio and Feedback Studio

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters

Read the search performance (searches, clicks, pages) of the website the centre chooses, and submit its sitemap.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly

Read visitor numbers from the Google Analytics property the centre chooses. Read-only.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage

List the centre's Business Profile locations so it can choose one, read its reviews, post replies the centre writes, and publish updates the centre writes.

Permissions · Website Studio → Connections, shown in Analytics Studio and Marketing Studio

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords

List the centre's Google Ads accounts so it can choose them, read campaign spend and results, and read its conversion actions.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/datamanager

Send conversion events (an enquiry or a new customer) to the centre's own Google Ads account, only if the centre turns this on. Contact details are hashed (SHA-256) before they are sent.

02

Google Ads

Shows ad spend and results next to bookings. If the centre turns it on, Origin Dive tells Google Ads when an enquiry from an ad becomes a customer, so the centre's ads learn what works.

03

Gmail inbox and Google Meet

A centre that uses Gmail or Google Workspace can connect its mailbox so customer emails appear in the Origin Dive inbox next to chat, SMS and WhatsApp, on the right customer's record, and staff reply from there. Booking a meeting with a customer can add a Google Meet link.

Permissions · Settings → Channels → Inbox

openid, email

Know which mailbox was connected, so it can be shown and matched to the centre.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly

Read messages in the connected mailbox so they appear in the centre's Origin Dive inbox.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send

Send the replies that staff write in Origin Dive, from the centre's own address.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events

Create a calendar event with a Google Meet link when staff book a meeting with a customer. We only create and update events we made.

Permissions · Website Studio and Marketing Studio → choose a picture

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/photospicker.mediaitems.readonly

Read only the photos the person picks in Google's picker. No refresh token is asked for: access ends after about an hour.

04

Google Photos

Staff can pick photos from their Google Photos to use on the website or in marketing. Google's own picker opens, the person chooses the photos, and only those photos are copied into the centre's media library.

05

YouTube

Post videos to the centre's YouTube channel and see how they do. See the YouTube page for details.

Marketing Studio → Social

Permissions · The sign-in page at crm.origindive.app

openid, email, profile

Confirm who is signing in and match them to their existing staff login. Nothing else is read.

06

Sign in with Google

Staff who already have an Origin Dive login can sign in with their Google account instead of a password. Only an existing staff member whose verified email matches can get in.

07

Google Analytics on the centre's website

If a centre adds its own Google Analytics 4 measurement ID, its website sends visit data to the centre's own Analytics property. Without an ID, nothing is sent.

Google Things to do

A centre can choose to list its courses, trips and dive packages in Google Search and Maps "Things to do". Origin Dive sends Google the products, prices and booking links of centres that turn this on. No customer data is sent.

Your data

Clear about what we keep.

A dive centre owner or manager chooses to connect. Nothing connects on its own, and each part below is a separate choice made in the Studio that uses it. Only the people at that dive centre who have permission to see that part of Origin Dive can see the data.

What we keep

The tokens Google gives us, encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and never shown to anyone, so the connection keeps working. Which website, Analytics property, Business Profile location and Ads accounts the centre chose. Search, visitor, review and ad figures, kept in the centre's own database so reports load quickly. Emails from a connected mailbox, as conversations in the centre's inbox, until the centre deletes them. Only the photos a person picks from Google Photos. For Sign in with Google: only the link between the Google account and the staff login.

What we never do

We never sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone other than the centre that connected it. We never use Google user data to train AI models. When a member of staff asks the AI to help write a reply to an email, that email is sent to our AI provider only to write that reply (see AI providers). Nobody at Origin Dive reads a centre's Google data, unless the centre asks us to for support, we must for security, or the law requires it. Each dive centre's data is kept in its own separate database; one centre never sees another's.

Disconnecting

Disconnect in the same place you connected (Website Studio → Connections, or Settings → Channels for the mailbox). We delete the stored tokens and, for the mailbox, revoke them with Google. You can also remove Origin Dive's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Origin Dive's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
